Saily eSIM in the Maldives: What You Get for the Price

Saily sells one Maldives plan: 1 GB for 7 days at $14.99. It's data only, and the Maldives isn't covered by Saily's regional or global plans. That makes it a small, pricey option here. It works for a short stopover or a resort stay where you'll live on Wi-Fi, but most visitors get far more data for their money elsewhere.

Should you buy Saily for a Maldives trip?

Only if you already use Saily and need very little mobile data. At $14.99 for 1 GB, it works out at $14.99 per gigabyte, more than any other fixed-data plan we track for the Maldives. Dhiraagu's $40 tourist eSIM gives you 20 GB plus local calls on the same kind of short trip.

Price per GB compared

Here's what a gigabyte costs on Saily's plan and on other fixed-data plans for a short Maldives trip, worked out from each provider's published price.

How we make money: some providers pay us a commission if you buy through our links. It doesn't change the price you pay, and it doesn't decide which plans we include or recommend. Details.

Frequently asked questions

Does Saily work in the Maldives?

Yes. Saily sells a Maldives plan of 1 GB for 7 days at $14.99. Saily doesn't name the Maldivian network it uses, and says speed and coverage depend on the local network providers. It's the only Maldives plan Saily lists.

Does Saily's Asia or global plan cover the Maldives?

Not when we checked on Oct 12, 2026. The Maldives wasn't in the country list for Saily's Asia and Oceania plan or its Global plan, so you'd need the Maldives plan itself. Check the list again before you buy, as providers add countries over time.

Can I add more data to Saily in the Maldives?

Yes. Saily offers an auto top-up option at checkout, which adds data when you run out. That keeps you connected, but each top-up adds to the cost, so for a longer stay it's worth comparing a bigger plan from another provider first.

Can I use Saily as a hotspot in the Maldives?

Yes. Saily says there are no hotspot restrictions on its Maldives plan. With 1 GB in total, though, sharing with a laptop or tablet will use it up quickly.

Does Saily give me a phone number in the Maldives?

No. Saily's Maldives plan is data only: no SMS, and calls only through apps like WhatsApp. Keep your home SIM switched on if you need texts to your usual number, such as bank security codes.
