How We Compare Maldives eSIMs

This site compares tourist eSIMs and SIM cards for the Maldives. Here's exactly how we pick plans, check facts and handle the money side, so you can judge our recommendations for yourself.

Which plans we include

We include the tourist packages sold by the two Maldivian operators, Dhiraagu and Ooredoo, plus international eSIM providers that sell a Maldives plan. Dhiraagu and Ooredoo don't pay us anything, and we include them anyway: for many trips they're the right answer.

How we check prices and plan details

Every price, data allowance, validity period and feature in our tables comes from a named source: the provider's own plan page, its terms, a dated screenshot, or a purchase we made ourselves. Each fact carries the date we last checked it, and you'll see that date next to prices.

If we can't confirm something, we say "Not confirmed" rather than guess. Facts we haven't rechecked in 60 days get flagged internally for review.

How we verify networks and coverage

International eSIMs in the Maldives run on either Dhiraagu or Ooredoo, and providers change partners. We confirm which network a provider uses by installing its eSIM and checking which network the phone connects to. Coverage results on this site are labelled as either our own tests (with date and island) or operator map data.

Commission and rankings

Some providers pay us a commission when you buy through our links. Commission is never a ranking factor: we rank on price per GB, validity, network, coverage and ease of setup for the trip you're taking. A plan that pays us nothing can be our top pick. See our affiliate disclosure.
